Information We Collect and How We Handle It
We collect and process information necessary to run the food truck finder service.
- Food Truck Owner Information: To manage your account and public profile, we process your owner authentication credentials, submitted business details, logo, photos, and menus. If provided, we also store your optional external ordering link. For account identification and compliance purposes, we also collect private business information including the owner or responsible party’s name, legal business name, state of registration or formation, principal business address, and food-service permit issuing authority or county. This private compliance information is not displayed on the public food truck profile.
- Payment Details: All payment processing is securely handled by Stripe. Our application does not store or have access to your credit card or full bank details. From Stripe, our application retains invoices and receipts only for accounting and account history management. No other financial data or payment methods are retained.
- Private Business and Compliance Information: We collect the owner or responsible party’s name, legal business name, state of registration or formation, principal business address, and food-service permit issuing authority or county for account identification, compliance administration, responding to reports or disputes, and enforcing our Terms of Service. This information is not intended for public display.
- Cookies and Tracking: We use essential cookies to manage secure owner login sessions and keep you authenticated. We also utilize Google Analytics to gather anonymous, aggregated data about how visitors interact with our application so we can improve the user experience.
Geolocation and Tracking
Location data is central to our platform, and we handle it transparently based on your role:
- For Food Truck Owners: Truck location is never shared without your permission. Owners must manually request a GPS reading and explicitly choose when to publish it. Once published, your truck’s exact coordinates and the timestamp of the update are displayed on your public profile.
- For Customers: You may optionally permit the application to access your device’s geolocation. When you perform a search, the app pulls active location data directly from our Supabase database, where truck owners’ coordinates are stored after they set their location to active, to match you with nearby vendors. Your customer device location is used solely to query the database for nearby trucks and is not tracked or permanently stored.
Public Visibility and Third-Party Sharing
To provide our services, we display certain information publicly and partner with trusted infrastructure providers.
- Public Visibility: Published truck locations, menus, photos, business profile details, and other information designated as public-facing are visible to website visitors. Private account and compliance information, including the owner or responsible party’s name, legal business name, registration state, principal business address, and food-service permit issuing authority or county, is not displayed publicly.
- Supabase: Provides account authentication, secure cloud database storage, and media hosting.
- Stripe: Manages all payment, billing portal access, and subscription processing.
- Vercel: Hosts the application code and front-end interface.
- OpenFreeMap: Provides the street-map tiles used to display map screens.
- External Links: Our application includes navigation links and external ordering links. Clicking these transfers you to external services, such as Google Maps or Apple Maps. These third-party services are subject to their own respective privacy practices.
Data Retention, Security, and Dashboard Choices
- Subscriptions and Cancellation: Food truck owners can cancel their subscription at their discretion using Stripe’s customer portal accessible directly within the Owner Dashboard. Upon cancellation, you will retain GPS activation access through the rest of your current paid billing period.
- Data Retention: We retain owner profile data and business information as long as the account remains active. Invoice and receipt data are retained as required for tax and financial compliance.
- Security Safeguards: We employ standard industry safeguards to protect your data, including secure database protocols via Supabase and HTTPS encryption for data in transit.
- Your Choices: Food truck owners can update their public business profile and private business or compliance information through the Owner Dashboard. Owners can stop sharing their truck location at any time by toggling their status away from active. Customers can revoke browser-level location access or manage cookie preferences at any time through their device or browser settings.

Depending on your state of residence, such as California, Virginia, Colorado, or others with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. These may include the right to request access to the data we collect, request deletion of your information, or opt out of certain data tracking.
We do not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
